St Mary's Newsletter

St. Mary's Newsletter 8th March

Blog readers,

The Berkeley ringers aim to ring between 10.30 and 11.00 every Sunday morning. They are often supported by friends from other parishes. Some of our visitors who help us regularly ring to a high standard and they enjoy the opportunity to put their skills to good use on our ten Bells. Before Evening Prayer today they are attempting to ring a quarter peal of Grandsire Caters. This will be a compliment for the birthdays of Mrs Mary Shield and Miss Marion Chamberlayne.

Marion Chamberlayne will be coming to church at 9.30 am this Sunday. We plan to make our 90th Birthday presentation to her at the end of the service. If any coming to Eleven get to St Mary's by 10.30, you'll be there in time.

SOUP LUNCHES AT ST MARY'S DURING LENT

Good News from Fairtrade Fortnight.

From Autumn this year Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chocolate will be Fair Trade. As reported in last week's newsletter, many cocoa farms that supply the chocolate industry use child slave labour. This is the first big UK chocolate brand to go Fair Trade.

For those that ordered Fair Trade Easter Eggs last week, we have more good news. We managed to get an extra discount, taking the price down to £2.15 per egg.
