Don't Forget! Next Sunday is Mothering Sunday. A popular notion is that Mothering Sunday was an occasion when, in the 18th and 19th centuries, domestic servants were given the day off to visit their mothers and the family home. What is far more likely is that the gathering of families on Mothering Sunday was due to the older custom of going together to the Mother Church. Ray is looking for volunteers to do coffee and biscuits after both services next Sunday. | From the Calendar Sunday, 15 March 09:30Parish Communion 11:00Informal Worship 12:30Hill Fun Run 18:00BCP Communion Tuesday, 17 March 08:30Morning Prayer 10:15Lent Course 'How Jesus taught us to pray' at 14 Court Meadow, Stone Wednesday, 18 March 12:30Lent Lunches 19:30 20:00Lent Course 'How Jesus taught us to pray' at The Vicarage Thursday, 19 March 19:30PCC Meeting Friday, 20 March 08:30Morning Prayer 10:00Little Fishes 18:00Renewal of Marriage Vows Gerry & Maggie Brown 19:00Choir Practice Sunday, 22 March 09:30Parish Communion 11:00Mothering Sunday Informal Worship 18:00Evensong Tuesday, 24 March 08:30Morning Prayer 10:15Lent Course 'How Jesus taught us to pray' at 14 Court Meadow, Stone 19:30Lent Book Reflections 'How to Pray' at The Vicarage Wednesday, 25 March 12:30Lent Lunches 19:30 20:00Lent Course 'How Jesus taught us to pray' at The Vicarage Friday, 27 March 08:30Morning Prayer 10:00Little Fishes 19:00Choir Practice Saturday, 28 March 10:00A workshop - Intercessions in Church Sunday, 29 March 09:30Benefice Communion at St Mary's 18:00United Details of Lent activities can be found on our website.
