St Mary's Newsletter

St. Mary's Newsletter 15th March

Blog readers,

Do you read 'The Herald'?
The Herald is a monthly magazine produced by members of Berkeley, Stone and Hill churches. The magazine is a way of communicating to the wider community about what is going on in the churches and contains information that simply can't be squeezed into the Pew Sheet. If you would like to subscribe to The Herald please contact Jean Stanton on 01453 511081 or jnjstanton@btinternet.com. It's only 30p per month (yearly in advance) and will be delivered to your door depending on where you live. The March edition can be picked up from church or, for this month only, downloaded from our website.

If you would like to write an article for The Herald, the cut-off date for the April edition is Tuesday 17th March. Please send your articles to Iris Harrison.

Don't Forget! Next Sunday is Mothering Sunday.

A popular notion is that Mothering Sunday was an occasion when, in the 18th and 19th centuries, domestic servants were given the day off to visit their mothers and the family home. What is far more likely is that the gathering of families on Mothering Sunday was due to the older custom of going together to the Mother Church.

Ray is looking for volunteers to do coffee and biscuits after both services next Sunday.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting
Important notice for Church Groups

It is our practice to have reports available for distribution one week before the APCM. During the preceding 2 weeks there is a serious constraint on the production of the material. Please can all those responsible for producing the annual report for each church group please send their report to Pam Curtis before the end of March.
